Abstract Family Portraits
This is not your typical awkward family photo- you know the ones that are overly posed, or everyone wearing matching outfits, one child in hysterics, one rolling their eyes, while everyone else smiles cheesily at the camera. My take, the Abstract Family Portrait, is quite different, it truly captures the unique spirit and inter-connections of a family- much cooler, and something you will want your friends to see!
The Origin
It started with my own abstract painting of my kids: which I created on a whim.
We were moving to LA and I didn’t want to move open tubes of paint, (better to use them up) and we had just bought a cool concrete gray dining table with mustard yellow chairs for the new place— so I worked off those colors.
The portrait really brought life to the room.
The Process
When people see it and love it, I make one for them, the process is simple:
You supply a fav family photo, we discuss the personalities, color schemes, size, and where you plan to hang it. I get to work and you end up with a piece of art that truly captures your family.
